Kapsejladsen 2012!

Kapsejladsen translates as "competition voyage".
Each year Aarhus University takes the day off and heads down to the small lake on campus to partake in a day full of boat races and fun.

Walking down to the festivities.
Because tens of thousands of people now come to the event, we all walked down early to get a good spot to watch the races.

Tuborg for breakfast!

The event at 9.30 AM... it started at 2:00 PM!  What to do in the mean time?  Drink Tuborg, socialize, and enjoy the weather :)

Video of Kapsejladsen around noon.  Not the best video, but a peak into the day :)

Rune & I.

The Naked Race!
People voluntarily participate in this naked race in order to win concert tickets. The participates had to run around the lake naked and then swim across it.  Everyone purposely left out this detail of the day, so I sat dumbfounded while watching :)

Rune!

Each department has one team in the race.  Before the heat they participate in, the team does an elaborate introduction. Here's an example of one:

Biggest festival in the north... 25,000 people!

The aftermath of Kapsejladsen & the result of forgetting to put sunscreen on my chest.
Ouch!

Sending my love!!
